Boulder Pride Volunteer Program
The scope of Boulder Pride’s work cannot be accomplished without the support of hundreds of volunteer hours. Pride has a growing volunteer program, and currently has between 3-5 college students working at Pride and receiving service learning credit. Pride is planning on having its first college intern this spring. Pride also has numerous community volunteers, who help with administrative tasks, publicity, events, and program support. If you would like to donate your time at the Pride House Community Center, below is the Volunteer Application and a description of the opportunities available:

Prep Pridehouse for Open House on December 15th
Report to: Jeanne
Description: Decorate, create informational signs, clean and organize office in preparation for our 12/15 open house. Number needed: 8
Time needed: Wed 11/26, from 12-4pm; 12/4 from 6-8pm**
Office assistant
Report to: Jeanne or Aicila
Description: Help with necessary office tasks, such as filing, cleaning and data entry. This is very glamorous work, trust us!
Number needed: 4
Time needed: Weekly, 2-4 hours per volunteer
Red Party Committee
Report to: Aicila
Description: Help plan and implement Boulder Pride's very sexy and fun valentine's day event.
Number needed: 4-8
Time needed: Meet on bi-weekly basis (except for holidays) until Jan 1, then weekly, until the Red Party (Feb 14, 2009)
Pridefest Committee
Report to: Aicila
Description: Help plan and implement Boulder Pride's annual Block Part; take on leadership roles in publicity and marketing; volunteer recruitment and management; vendor solicitation; children's area organization; and entertainment Number needed: 8
Time needed: Meet every six weeks until March 31, 2009, then every four weeks until July 31, 2009. Then weekly until the event.
Development Committee
Report to: Aicila or Cris
Description: Be part of creating a strong revenue stream for Boulder Pride in 2009. Number needed: 5
Time needed: Meet once a month and volunteer as needed to help with development tasks. Need volunteer to take on leadership role in reaching out to business community.
Publicity Team for Boulder Pride
Report to: Aicila or Kirsten
Description: Create fliers, press releases and posters for Boulder Pride events. Also keep media contact list up-to-date and help develop relationships with local media. Keep viral marketing program vibrant with weekly updates. A volunteer with some graphic design experience would be a great addition to this team. Number needed: 4
Time needed: 2-4 hours per month, per team member. Bi-monthly meetings, mostly work by email and phone, viral marketing volunteers could work remotely but would need to commit to a specific times to manage updates and content of online social networking for Boulder Pride.

The following opportunities require a regular time commitment during normal business hours and sometimes weekends.
Special Events
Boulder Pride events are fun and lively. Special event volunteer opportunities range from set up and decoration, to selling tickets, to helping acquire silent auction donations, to being an ambassador of goodwill to guest entertainers and much more.
Staffing Boulder Pride Booth/Table
Boulder Pride engages in a lot of community outreach and needs trained volunteers to help explain Boulder Pride programs and services to the public. This opportunity is a great way to get out and engage with the community-at-large.
Serving on a Committee
Boulder Pride forms work committees for various events. Committee’s work on topics ranging from entertainment to sponsors to publicity. Boulder Pride also has steering committees for its programs. Inquire within.
Newsletter and website
Boulder Pride is always looking for someone to lend a hand to support Pride’s communications program. We need assistance developing listservs, updating our Facebook and MySpace sites and also updating Boulder Pride’s website. Volunteers with experience in website design and maintenance should inquire.
House Maintenance
Boulder Pride needs volunteers to lend a hand in helping clean and keep tidy the Boulder Pride House Community Center. We need help with cleaning, distributing new literature on tables, helping with artwork decoration and keeping the store room inventoried.
Soliciting Corporate Sponsorship
As a grassroots non profit, Boulder Pride relies on the generosity of the business community to help sustain our community programs and services. We welcome individuals to help us expand our donor circle, which will help Boulder Pride grow.
Membership Drive
Fiscal support from Boulder Pride constituents is crucial to the ability of Boulder Pride to provide essential LGBTQ community programs and services. We need volunteers to help us ask for financial support from our many supporters.
Donation Acquisitions
Boulder Pride relies on generous donations from community members. Oftentimes, community members gladly donate much needed office supplies, filing cabinets and even new computers. Help us locate much needed material resources.
Administrative Work
Boulder Pride always needs administrative support. This can come in the form of helping us answer phone calls, update media lists, conduct research projects, and helping update program manuals, and much more.
